Hi there! My name is Marie Little.  I live in San Diego, Ca with my wonderful husband and darling baby girl.  I am a registered nurse, where I work on a Labor & Delivery Unit and Perinatal Specialty Care Unit. I enjoy the outdoors and love spending my days off with family and friends.  

I've enjoyed reading and writing poetry since I was 10 years old.  I remember the first poem I wrote as a little girl. I asked my mom to come to my bedroom and sit down on my bed as I read my poem to her. Her encouragement sparked a joy inside of me to continue writing poetry. Ever since that day, I've used poetry as a means to reflect and process my ideas, circumstances, and beliefs.  

Sharing my poems has always felt vulnerable, and so far, I've been selective with whom I've shared them with. My family, grandparents, and a few friends sum up those with whom I've shared. My twin sister, Rachel, also grew to enjoy expressing herself through poetry.  We found it to be a great way of experiencing connection with each other, and over time, began to dream about sharing our poems with others as well by publishing a book. 

When reflecting on our dreams and goals for this year, we decided to go for it and take the step forward of turning our dream into a reality.  After my baby girl was born in May of this year, I used my time off work to gather some of our poems together and publish our first book.  

Through the process of publishing the book, my husband encouraged me to use other avenues for sharing my poetry, such as this website and an instagram account.  This page is my way of branching out and finding a new outlet in which to share my poems.  It is also a space to collaborate and share poems of other friends who also have a love for poetry. 

My hope is that whoever finds this page is encouraged and leaves feeling refreshed. Enjoy!
